Center Marker It is oſt en necessary to know the exact center point on the base of a bowl, particularly when the bowl will be put on a vacuum chuck and the bottom turned to fi nal shape, sanded and fi nished. If the exact center is marked, the tailstock can be moved up and the cone center put in the indented center point on the base. T is will center the bowl accurately. T e center marker collar is designed to fi t inside the threads on a chuck or faceplate. T e center point slides through the collar and will contact the base of the bowl. When the center point is tapped, the cone point will leave a small indentation marking the true center of the base. T is will allow the precise centering of

the bowl on a vacuum chuck. Size » 1"–8TPI, 1-1/4"–8TPI # 101-060 . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . $20.75

Center Punch T is simple device has long been used for making a small dimple in metal and other hard materials prior to drilling to prevent the bit from wandering. It is ideal for woodturning as it can be used to mark screw locations and center points on spindle stock for easy locating of the drive or tailstock center. T e knurled surface makes it easy to hold the punch fi rmly in place while applying suffi cient pressure to cause the center point to strike a dimple in the work.

without screw holes is to use cloth

double-sided

tape to secure the bowl blank to the faceplate. If the bowl blank is true and in balance, double-sided premium tape will hold it to the faceplate during turning and fi nishing. We have turned numerous bowls up to 10" in diameter and 2" thick without any problems. For maximum holding power, make sure that both surfaces are fl at, clean, smooth and dust-free. When removing the fi nished piece, wedge a wood chisel between the wood and the faceplate and gently pry apart. 1" x 75' long.
