Hollow-Pro Tools by Mike Jackofsky Hollow-Pro tools offer an innovative approach to free-hand hollow turning. At the heart of the Hollow-Pro system is a proprietary swivel cutter positioned at a negative angle. Tis results in less aggressive cutting and improved control. Te optional M4 scraper blade is ideal for making tissue-thin clean up cuts prior to sanding. Hollow-Pro tools and swivel tip cutters are sold separately.

Choosing the right tool Bent tools are designed specifically for use on hollow forms, particularly those with a small opening. Te 1/2" bent tool is recommended for use on pieces up to 8" diameter and for undercutting the first portion of larger hollow forms. Larger diameter work up to 16" requires the 5/8" bent tool.

Straight tools are not only useful for hollowing, they also excel at hogging away wood on open bowls and other forms regardless of grain orientation.

Mike’s favorite Hollow-Pro set up consists of a 1/2" Straight Tool with a standard #1 swivel tip cutter assembly and M4 scraper cutter.

Hollow-Pro™ Tools Shaſt only; requires swivel tip cutter for use. 1/2" tools are 10" long and 5/8" tools are 15" long. Will fit in any handle with a 5/8" hole. torx wrench and 2 tightening screws. See photo above.
