HOW ARE YOUR SOURCE MARKETS PERFORMING? 2017 was a great year, during which we welcomed 1.7 million tourists from around the world. So far, 2018 has been a remarkable year too – we’re confident we’ll see high numbers of international arrivals by the end of the year.
WHAT MARKETING STRATEGIES ARE IN THE PIPELINE? Our focus will remain on Sharjah Tourism Vision 2021. We are also focusing on digital marketing with our newly upgraded site and a stronger presence on social media.
WHAT ARE THE TOP REASONS TO VISIT IN 2019? Our events calendar, including the Sharjah Light Festival, has something for everyone and new family attraction the Al Montazah water park opened in February 2018. We’re also very excited about our eco-tourism plans such as the Kalba Eco Tourism Project.

WHAT HAVE BEEN HIGHLIGHTS IN 2018? Our biggest milestone has been the opening of Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi, the third theme park to open on Yas Island. It features six immersive lands with 29 rides, attractions and shows. I am thrilled that fans of heroes such as Superman will be able to meet these characters.
WHAT NEW ATTRACTIONS ARE COMING SOON? A vibrant public waterfront and entertainment district called Yas Bay, featuring a multi-purpose arena, a media zone, residences and much more. We are also looking forward to Clymb, a sports and entertainment facility featuring the world’s tallest indoor climbing wall.
WHAT MARKETS ARE YOU TARGETING IN 2019? Our target
markets include visitors
from India, China, Saudi Arabia, Germany and the UK.
