Management

The US market has historically been the bastion of regional suppliers who have dominated the market, especially catering to the highly fragmented community banking segment. The last two years saw this tight knit supplier market being penetrated by large global players who have entered the market mainly through the acquisition of US focused suppliers. In 2015, Temenos acquired lending specialist Akcelerant, and has been making significant inroads in the lending systems space with its rebranded, Temenos Lifecycle Management solution.

The most notable development in the US market in 2017 was the merger of Canadian supplier, D+H Corp., with leading UK based supplier Misys, resulting in the mammoth fintech group, Finastra. This deal allowed Misys to gain access to the US market piggybacking on D+H’s market presence in the country.

In order to showcase the performance of all the US focused solutions by both regional and global suppliers on the same platform, this year’s US Domestic Sales League Table also include Temenos’ Lifecycle Management solution, which is primarily focused on the US market.

We also introduced category-wise ranking this year so as to

recognize leaders in each category as opposed to the historical approach of list system performance across categories.

This year the US domestic table was dominated by systems from the Finastra stable of solutions which covered almost all the major SLT categories. Of note, was Finastra’s lending solutions – LaserPro, Mortgagebot LOS, CreditQuest USA and DecisionPro which took the top four spots in the lending category and clocking nearly 200 deals cumulatively.

The retail category continued to be dominated by Jack Henry and its three solutions – Silverlake, Episys and Core Director. Silverlake retained the top spot in the retail banking category with 23 deals (22 deals in 2016). Of note this year was the significant jump in the number of deals won by Core Director which stood at 11 in comparison 3 deals in 2016. More than 75% of Jack Henry’s deals were on a hosted basis.

FIS’ Horizon came out as the leader in the universal banking category with 15 deals, a marked improvement over the 9 deals recorded in 2016. The US Domestic wholesale banking & Treasury systems category was dominated by Integrity, another product from the FIS stable.
