The IBSI Islamic Banking Sales League Table 2018 saw the total number of Islamic core banking deals in 2017 at 35, compared to the 30 reported in 2016. The Islamic banking systems continues to be dominated by specialist suppliers, with generic core banking suppliers making small in-roads.
The deals were from the major Islamic markets in regions such as Asia, Africa and the Middle East with this region accounting for 61% of the deals. Iraq, which is rebuilding the banking market had 8 qualified deals reported with Temenos, Capital Banking Solutions, ICS Financial Systems and Path Solutions the active suppliers in this market.
The IBSI Islamic SLT continued to be dominated by the Islamic core banking system, iMAL, from Kuwait based Islamic Banking specialist, Path Solutions with 13 new implementations. The supplier continued its focus on the African and Middle

Path Solutions had a particularly good performance in the Iraqi market, winning 4 deals in this country, notable client being newly established Zain Iraq Islamic bank. Temenos T24 Core Banking continued its steady performance in the Islamic banking sector with seven deals which is the same number as last year. A new entrant to the table was Lyst Technologies’, a Bahrain based specialist Islamic supplier, with five implementations for its core banking product SYNERGIES in 2017.
