NEW FOCUS AREA - PAYMENT & CARD MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS

Payments & Card Management Systems category was won again by last year’s winner Intellect Payments with 11 deals which accounted for 33% of the qualified deals in the category.

NEW FOCUS AREA – COMPLIANCE & RISK MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS

Banks and Financial Institutions currently operate in an era of enhanced risk management and stringent regulatory compliance with financial penalties amounting to $22 Billion in 2017 for non-compliance. This is reflected with increased focus on Compliance & Risk Management system sales which increased nearly 50% compared to 2016. While the title of this category was earlier called as Risk Management related to Market, Credit and Operational Risk management, the category is more specifically defined now as Compliance and Risk Management, given the significant focus that is being laid by global banks towards risk related compliance management

Temenos Risk and Compliance was the clear winner in the SLT 2018 for Compliance & Risk Management Systems with 27 new implementations in 2017. Europe accounted for one-third of the total new client wins for Temenos. Open Bank by Santander was a notable client, with the bank expected to implement the system across 10 countries. The second spot was taken by Capital Compliance from Capital Banking Solution with 17 deals. Interestingly all these deals were from the Middle East with Iraq ending up as a major market for this supplier.
