In all, 259 deals made it to the IBSI SLT across the five new areas, an increase of nearly 40% over last year. There has been an enhanced focus on customer experience and meeting regulatory compliance among the banks and financial institutions which is reflected by the fact that Digital Banking Channels and Compliance & Risk Management saw the maximum participation accounting for 68% of the total qualified deals.

Nearly 58% of the deals in the new emerging category were from the developing markets of Asia, Africa and Middle East, mirroring the trend in the conventional back office systems space.

NOTE: The chart excludes data for the newly introduced ’Investment / Fund Management’ which had 25 deals in 2017

NEW FOCUS AREA – CRM SYSTEMS

The IBSI SLT 2018 for CRM Systems had 37.5% more qualified deals compared to last year with 7 participating products.

The category was won by SAP Hybris Sales Cloud from SAP with 8 deals in 2017, dethroning last year’s winner CRM Banking Edition from CRMNext who stood second with 6 deals. SAP showcased the

global nature of its business with its 8 deals coming from financial institutions in 7 countries and 3 regions – Europe, Asia and Middle East. CRMNext which is ramping up its operations in the USA, post private equity infusion, had a notable client deal win with First Bank in that region. Temenos was a big mover in IBSI SLT 2018, winning 5 deals for Temenos Front Office for PWM.
