Northeast Bible Church Calgary, Alberta John Fehr, Pastor Northeast youth and children ended
the summer at Callaway Park, a large amusement park full of exciting rides and interesting activities. About 25 kids and eight chaperons spent the day having great fun together. When the call was given to head for home, many desperate pleas could be heard from the kids requesting, “Just one more ride, please!” Junior and senior youth meet twice
a month. During their off-Sundays, they willingly offer assistance with children’s teaching lessons, helping children learn memory verses, songs and craſts, and interacting with the little ones. We are so pleased with their willingness to serve, just as they are being served. Micky Bonyai, one of our senior youth,
returned from her mission trip to Trinidad (
ttum.org). She helped establish a Sunday School in a struggling new church which had never had materials or information on how to run a children’s program. Another highlight was to bring joy and encourage- ment to the residents a seniors’ home. Tey sang and danced together and gave and received many hugs. Te team also visited a rehabilitation center to share their testimo- nies with the struggling residents. When the team returned, it was evident that their mission to serve others resulted in the team being encouraged and strengthened in their faith as well. Julie Ann Simpson, Correspondent

How I Found Jesus, continued fom page 24 I called Pastor’s house several times — no answer — and in what I now realize was a
divine appointment, I tried one last time before giving up and going home. I truly felt like a lost little boy, even though I was 44-years old. I called one more time, and Pastor Paul answered. He had just arrived home with his family. I told him I was at the church and asked if he could help me with a problem. He said he would be there in ten minutes, but he was there in five. We went into his office, where I proceeded to tell him all about my marital problem
and could he help? Well, we never got that far! He proceeded to ask me about God, Jesus and the Bible, then told me all about God sending Jesus to earth to be the propitiation for our sins, the righteous for the unrighteous, and how by simply believing in him, I would have eternal life imputed to my heavenly account, freely, as a giſt! I had never heard anything like this when I was growing up; it was strange to my ears,
but God did an amazing work that day. I did believe Jesus died for me, and I did accept God’s free giſt of eternal life. Te shackles came off, the blinders were removed, and my name was written in the Book of Life! I was set free from bondage! I now serve the Lord because I am saved — not to be saved. Te difference is I am completely assured of my salvation because of the promise of God, not by my imperfect works. Although my wife ended up leaving anyway, I am forever thankful for that day as
God used something awful for something miraculous! I should also add that since that day, way back in 2003, I have not had a single drop of alcohol, nor do I desire one. I have God to thank for that. I received two miracles that day, and I owe them both to God, through his willing servant, Pastor Paul Carpenter!
