Crosspoint Bible Church Omaha, Nebraska Michael Boyle, Interim Pastor
crosspointbible.org Many changes have taken place in our
pastoral leadership since August 1. Dr. Paul Nyquist finished his three months of interim preaching. He his wife, Cheryl, moved to Houston, Texas, at the end of August. During September, Pastor Gary Krehbiel preached from the book of Ephe- sians, teaching us how to “Suit Up” with a game plan as a church by means of personal evangelism, community involvement, and intentional discipleship. Dr. Michael Boyle, former professor at Moody Bible Institute, and his wife, Mel, arrived from Chicago in late September. Dr. Boyle will be our Interim Pastor indefinitely as the search is underway for a new lead pastor. Te Omaha and Bennington campuses
were reunited on Sept. 2. Pastor Gary Krehbiel has transitioned from Benning- ton Campus Pastor to take on the respon- sibilities of Church Life Pastor. Our Awana® program began Septem-
ber 5 with over 200 children, following the Awana Kickoff Carnival the previous week. We are thankful for the large num- ber of volunteers who lead this program. Crosspoint in Action draws volunteers
to a monthly service project in the com- munity. In August several families spent a Saturday at Skyline Assisted Living, inter- acting with the residents, playing games, listening and enjoying the time together. Te September Action Project involved participation with Embrace the Nations. Another monthly group, Operation World Prayer, draws people together to pray for people around the world. Women’s Bible studies include, Life
Interrupted: Navigating the Unexpected, a study of the book of Jonah by Priscilla Shirer. Women’s First Place 4 Health is studying Moving Mountains by John Eldredge. Men have a Purity Bible Study, as

well as Te Measure of a Man study. Youth ministry is beginning a new “Discipleshiſt” focus — older youth will be paired with younger youth to help them grow in Christ. MUMS (Mothers Upliſting Mothers)
held their Kickoff Dinner on Sept. 13 for 64 mothers with children from unborn through fourth grade and 20 mothers of “tweens” from fiſth grade up. Many volunteers, men- tors, and speakers are involved to train and encourage these mothers each month. Crosspoint’s Annual Church Picnic
was held in the church on Sept. 30 because of rain. Te auditorium became a play- ground for fun games and a magic show by Cru staffer Marc Vergo. Te Ironsharpeners’ Men’s Retreat was
an impactful weekend getaway at Hidden Acres Christian Center in Iowa. Amid the fun activities, great food and fellowship, men were introduced to the concepts of “Discipleshiſt,” a relational way to help people grow in Christ. Marjorie Kirkpatrick, Correspondent
Luster EMB Church Luster, Montana John Skillman, Pastor Dan Marasco, EMB member and Bible
teacher at Lustre Christian High School, was the speaker at Junior High week at Beacon Bible Camp this summer. Pastor John was a co-director and Dan and Mel- ody Nickel, brother-in-law and sister to Sharon Skillman, were camp missionaries. Tey explained their ministry in Limerick, Ireland where they work under FIM (fim. org). On July 1, the Nickels also presented their Irish ministry in our church, and the next day Melody spoke at our Women’s Ministry meeting. On a warm July 8 we held our church
Sunday School picnic in the lovely country yard of Brad and Abby Traeholt with ball games and great visits. Jim and Olya Wiens and family spent a week in our area this summer sharing
their musical talents and insight into their ministry in Volgograd, Russia. We welcomed new dorm parents and
students at the Christian High School with a potluck. At another potluck we said farewell to the Karl Sauskojus family who are relocating to Wisconsin. Te book of James is the subject of the

Pastor Darrell and Priscilla back with us aſter their sabbatical. Our Sunday School theme for the
year, FROG (Fully Rely on God), was announced on the Fall Kickoff Day, Sept. 2. Students met their new Sunday School teachers and enjoyed a barbeque lunch. Kids played in a bouncy castle. Sunday School classes are available for ages 1–100. Almost the entire Sunday School depart- ment is learning from Te Gospel Project (
gospelproject.com). An alternative class for adults is studying “Understanding God's Grace.” Te town-wide boys Christian Service
Brigade (CSB) and girls GEMS (Girls Everywhere Meeting the Savior) have resumed to build Christ into the lives of our community children. CSB held a chili supper on Sept 30 to introduce men and boys of all ages to its ministry. Many junior and senior youth meet
weekly. We are grateful for so many youth leaders to help with our teens. A new group, "Young at Heart," has
begun for adults aged 55-plus. Tey plan- ning to meet monthly for fun, fellowship, singing and encouragement. Te first night was a full house with lots of laughter as they reminisced (complete with a video from 30 years ago) about the days when
