Tey held anoth- er successful father/daughter banquet on Oct. 20 under the western theme of “Saddle Up with Dad.” Our men see these banquets as a way to further invest in their relationships with their daughters. EBC’s new Governing Board of Elders

is now fully functional with officers in place for the coming year. Bob Baxter is the chairman, Joe Cacka is the vice chair- man, and Jeff Kershner is the secretary. Te elders held a weekend retreat in mid-Sep- tember to look in-depth at the Biblical mandate for church elders and discuss ways they can strengthen and promote all of the ministries of Evangelical Bible Church. Additionally, the Elders spent considerable time reviewing the bylaws, policies, and procedures of our church. In the coming months, the Elders plan to visit the Sunday School classes where they hope to be available for comments and to further establish deeper relationships with all members of the church community. children’s camp and a teen camp. Te children’s camp attracted 80–90 youth, and the teen camp had 121 campers plus 35 staff. In addition to the camps, the team also helped facilitate fund-raising for an air conditioner, an updated kitchen that included a commercial propane stove, two stainless steel refrigerators, commercial fan unit, and other supplies. When not work- ing with the camps, the EBC team assisted with some construction and other repairs of the facility. MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers)

Martensville Mission Church Martensville, Saskatchewan Justin Klassen, Pastor martensvillemissionchurch.com Te kick-off for our fall program

was on Sept. 9. Pastor Justin introduced his next message series on Genesis 1 to 11 — why we believe these chapters are historical and why that matters for our biblical understanding and beliefs. Being reminded of the importance of these chap- ters hopefully ignites, in all of us, an awe and wonder of God and creates a desire in us to give him the glory and honour he deserves. Following the morning worship service, the Family BBQ provided a time to enjoy food and fellowship. By the end of the month, all of our regular programs were in full swing. Te biggest highlight of summer was the VBS program in August entitled

“Shipwrecked — Rescued by Jesus” that focussed on how kids are consumed by worry over things like school, friends, family circumstances, and bullying, to name a few. Te kids learned how God can help them overcome those worries. Ninety-seven children registered for VBS, keeping everyone very busy (see photo on leſt). We were so thankful for the many youth who so willingly gave of their time to help run the program. Tirteen of our twenty-six leaders were youth! Te leaders and organizers received a lot of positive feedback from both parents and children throughout the week, and they felt very grateful for the opportunity to minister to the community in that way. For Compassion Sunday (Sept. 30), Tim

Hague, Sr. shared his testimony and his pas- sion for the work of Compassion Canada. Brenda Quirt, Correspondent
