Six Senses Resorts launches green-minded Earth Lab
Six Senses Hotel Resorts Spas has What’s happening
Dubai Tourism has launched Dubai Expert, an innovative online game created exclusively for travel agents.
Who’s involved
The app was designed and made in collaboration with the Dubai College of Tourism and e-learning specialists KTM Advance.
How does it work Dubai Expert operates as a turn-based card game, in which participants will need to select the best cards — each with an attraction in the city — from
an automatically generated deck, to create an ideal itinerary for a
traveler. Various traveler profiles make up the 30 ‘missions’ of the game, with the best
combination of activities earning higher scores. The platform also includes 25 videos from experts that serve as a guide of what to do in Dubai – including family entertainment, gastronomy, shopping, theme parks, culture and heritage among others.
What they say
Issam Kazim, CEO of Dubai Corporation for Tourism and
Commerce Marketing (DCTCM), said: “With the Dubai Expert
platform, we have used technology innovation to transcend typical
training programmes and create an experience that enhances
travel agents’ knowledge of Dubai, so they can build customized itineraries that will attract more visitors.”

launched Earth Lab, a new initiative aimed at educating and engaging with guests about the issues of sustainablity. Each of the 11 Six Senses properties
around the world will use Earth Lab to showcase the company’s sustainability efforts to reduce consumption, produce locally, and support communities and ecosystems. Te labs offer workshops and video
tutorials on subjects including natural incesticides and the company’s commitment to zero waste — Earth Lab embraces this by upcycling materials into new products to be used at its properties. Work happening around the resorts or off-
site is also communicated in Earth Lab, for example, marine conservation work, forest restoration and community development.
Some of the projects Earth Lab is
showcasing include plants harvested on-site used for spa treatments; free-range chickens producing organic eggs; renewable energy produced from solar and biomass sources; and biologically active cleaning solutions replacing chemicals. Local community members are involved in the sharing of information on sustainable practices. “We are delighted to launch Earth Lab,”
said Bernhard Bohnenberger, president of Six Senses Hotels Resorts Spas. “Each facility represents the seriousness we place on sustainability and the importance of working locally and with nearby communities to tread lightly on the environment and respect Mother Nature. We track metrics on all of Earth Lab activities undertaken, and are keen to provide that data to our guests.”
