PAID CONTENT FOR LEON HOTEL & LOUNGE

Leon Hotel & Lounge BUDAPEST, HUNGARY

Anchored in Budapest’s storied past yet designed for a vibrant, communal future, Leon Hotel & Lounge blends history, art and innovation on the banks of the Danube. Cradled by Buda Castle and the riverfront, the boutique retreat reimagines heritage through a contemporary lens. Built upon the last remaining structure of Count Béla Széchenyi’s palace stables dating from 1871-73 and originally designed by architect Miklós Ybl, the property also preserves the ruins of a Roman- era mill discovered during construction in the early 2000s, now visible beneath the glass-floor lobby. Reimagined and launched in 2025, the hotel showcases AI-generated artworks by Hungarian artist Dávid Szauder, creating an immersive cultural journey throughout guest rooms and public spaces. The Hillside and Riverside Rooms, each around

226sq ft, offer serene views of the Buda Hills, the Royal Castle or the Danube, while the Leon Top Floor Studio presents a 430sq ft sanctuary with a furnished terrace and sweeping panoramas. This open-plan studio is designed with an elegant, open-concept bathroom that blends seamlessly

into the contemporary space, offering a truly indulgent retreat. Dining at the hotel begins with Leon Café, a

boho-chic space for breakfast and brunch, with both dine-in and takeaway options. In partnership with Jade Matcha Gallery, Madrid’s renowned matcha destination, the cafe also features a menu of energising matcha creations. By evening, the space transforms into a lively cocktail bar infused with neighbourhood charm. Nearby, Leon Osteria offers authentic Italian cuisine under the direction of head chef Tamás Tóth, whose experience brings the warm ‘dolce vita’ spirit to Budapest. The hotel also provides elegant conference and event spaces on the first floor, bathed in natural daylight and opening directly onto a tranquil inner garden. This interplay of indoor and outdoor elements creates a serene, inspiring environment for meetings, workshops and exclusive gatherings. Leon Hotel & Lounge is more than a place to stay

— it’s a cultural sanctuary that celebrates heritage, embraces innovation and offers an experience that’s both timeless and forward-looking.
