BMC COURSES 2022
Make your first moves onto rock by having a fun day learning to climb outdoors with experienced instructors.
We’ve got two sets of courses that will cover the use of some key skills and equipment. These courses are ideal for novice climbing club members, students, parents and individuals who may have had the odd taster of climbing outdoors and wish to gain key safety skills at an excellent price. They may also be a good precursor for people contemplating the Single Pitch Award training. You should already know how to put on a harness and belay.

SPORT CLIMBING CONFIRMED
FOR LA28 OLYMPIC GAMES LA28 is celebrating the official inclusion of surfing, skateboarding and sport climbing in the LA28 Olympic Games as the three iconic West Coast sports were approved to be part of the LA28 initial sports program by the International Olympic Committee.
LA28 Chairperson Casey Wasserman said: “The LA28 Games have always been about bringing more freshness, youthful energy and creativity into the Olympic and Paralympic movement. Los Angeles is a place unlike any other and it will be incredible to host surfing, skateboarding and climbing as iconic West Coast sports alongside Olympic fan favourites.”
After a two year break we are pleased to announce that the BMC/BMMS Mountain Medicine Weekend will be returning in 2022.

ith the easing of Covid restrictions the British Mountaineering Council and British Mountain Medicine Society are again combining to offer a weekend of Mountain Medicine Workshops on 11-12 June. This is a social as well as an educational event so have a chat to the experts over a beer and BMC BBQ on Saturday evening. This weekend will be followed by a one-day Hathersage symposium geared to those with a specific interest in Hillwalking and Mental Health on Monday 13 June.
