FEET UP
NATURALLY POLISHED Set in the garden courtyard of The
Cosmopolitan heritage building in Maboneng, Tenfold is a chic, airy salon that’s been laid out in natural tones with calming, Zen-like precision. Committed to the pursuit of natural
nailcare, Tenfold is totally formaldehyde- free, always on the lookout for paraben-free products and doesn’t offer acrylic or artificial nail enhancements. “We believe the next generation of beauty is a lot more natural. It’s toxin-free, socially responsible and definitely more chic, and we’re laying the foundation for that,” explains owner Georgia Shekeshe. She believes salon visits “should be an
experience, rather than merely routine bodily maintenance”, and a line of inviting treatment chairs clearly reflects this, offering a sociable environment for groups of friends. Shekeshe says everything from the polishes (made without dibutyl phthalate, toluene, camphor or formaldehyde resin) to the ventilation system and even the salon’s tea offerings is carefully selected to create “a feel- good experience, from start to finish”. Try their classic mani (R230) and pedi
(R280), or the increasingly popular design manicure in gel (R350). For summer 2018, brights are big. “It’s all about high-contrast and high-impact colour. Our favourite is Essie’s Clambake, a bright creamy red- orange,” says Georgia. Check out Tenfold’s IG: @tenfold_jhb. 24 Albrecht St, Johannesburg City Centre. Tel: 064 681 4749. Email: info@
