Shifting the Engineering Focus of Back-up System Design Sam Scott, Chromalloy Castings
Associated with the metalcasting industry for over 25 years, Sam utilized his aerospace engineering degree from the University of Cincinnati to develop a deep understanding of a variety of casting processes, casting physics and casting phenomena, especially through his position as North America technical lead for the casting simulation software ProCAST.
Six years ago Sam switched sides from vendor to manufacturing parts by joining Chromalloy Castings Tampa as the simulation manager, and now is responsible for the engineering, methodology and control of the manufacturing process areas from wax and core production, through shell build and casting, and completing post-casting operations.

Tom is the founder and president of
Mueller Additive Manufacturing Solutions, a consulting company focusing on metal casting applications of additive manufacturing. He has been involved in 3D printing applications for more than 30 years. He led the first beta site for stereolithography at Baxter Healthcare in the late 80s. He then went on to found two 3D printing service companies. One of those companies, Express Pattern, was sold to 3D Systems in 2010. He worked for 3D Systems as Director of Business Development focusing on metal casting applications and later for Voxeljet as Director of Metal Casting applications. Tom has published more than 50 technical papers and journal articles related to 3D
Evaluation of Printed Wax Pattern Molds Elvira Stesikova, BASF Forward AM
Elvira completed her MS degree in Chemistry from the Moscow State University and a PhD in Polymer Science from Syracuse University. Her industrial career started at ConocoPhillips Specialty Additives for Flow Improvement. Later, she worked for the US Navy and NAVAIR developing and testing corrosion resistant coatings for military aircraft. Since 2007, Dr. Stesikova assumed various roles at BASF from product development and global project manager, to technical service manager and now the Head of 3D Printing Solutions Technical Team. Her life challenges
® and joys evolve around
- creating technical solutions for customers and with customers
- navigating dual career family - making ceramic arts
- supporting two strong and extraordinary daughters in colleges
- welcoming two giant Newfoundland dogs, Charles and Darwin, into her family - and volunteering with Charlie, who is a therapy dog, visiting schools, nursing homes and a VA hospital in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
