Gavin Dooley studied Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering in Trinity College Dublin, Ireland and a PhD from the University of Birmingham, UK. Gavin’s PhD was entitled “Shell Improvements for the Investment Casting of Orthopaedic Implants”. He has been in the investment casting industry for over 11 years in various roles including, research,
process and materials engineer and technical director. He also holds an MBA from the Open University. Gavin supports Worldwide product development, customer technical service and quality for the REMET Group. Gavin has presented numerous presentations in Europe, US and Asia in recent years.

Project Report Nolan Sykes, Concurrent Resources LLC
Nolan Sykes is in his second-year interning at Concurrent Resources whilst studying mechanical engineering at Southern New Hampshire University. He enjoys golfing, skiing, and traveling, as well as watching rally car events. Sykes says he has learned alot about manufacturing in the past couple of years and he’s thankful for the ICI project opportunity this summer with hopes of making an impact.
