OPERATOR NEWS YOU CAN USE

Iceland touring specialist offers 20% commission

Juliet Dennis juliet.dennis@travelweekly.co.uk

Hidden Iceland is actively targeting the UK trade for the first time and is offering commission of about 20%.

The Iceland-based company,

which started trading last year, already sells direct to UK holidaymakers. It is now looking to form partnerships with travel agents to increase sales from the UK, which currently make up more than 20% of bookings. Its itineraries explore the country’s “hidden gems” and offer an immersive experience through small-group escorted tours of up to 12 people and bespoke, private trips.

One of the

operator’s most

popular offerings is a two-day

Co-founder Ryan Connolly

twin-room accommodation, excluding flights. The company will introduce a

four-day Westfjords itinerary this summer to take holidaymakers to the most remote areas of Iceland. Hidden Iceland can put together

glacier lagoon tour, with overnight stays in a guesthouse on a farm and the chance to see icebergs float around the Jokulsarlon Glacier Lagoon and hike up one of the outlet glaciers of the Vatnajökull ice cap. The trip costs from £375, based on

customised itineraries ranging from three to 10 days for couples, families and solo travellers. Founded by Ryan Connolly, Scott Drummond and Dagný Björg Stefánsdóttir, the operator’s first trip departed in November last year.

Connolly said: “The UK is a huge

market for us and we’re keen to hear from agents who’d like to work together to offer truly personalised tour products and

adventures to their clients.” hiddeniceland.is
