This will be difficult, with pubs, hotels and sports bars showing matches. The only way to escape the tournament may be by going up a mountain, or perhaps on a cruise ship to Antarctica – but with technology these days, even then you can’t be sure.

Norwegian should strike IAG deal


Story: Speculation over IAG bid for Norwegian cools With oil prices going in the direction they are and stories of short trades and profiting from market speculation, I think Norwegian has two choices: sell to IAG or break up the business and sell it off in chunks. Compare Norwegian’s financial position to that of Ryanair. The Irish carrier’s spectacular financial results are sprinkled with facts about the percentage cost of fuel to the operation and how the airline has hedged 90% of its fuel at $20 below the market rate. I dont expect Norwegian has hedged anything like to the degree of Ryanair, yet its operation is even more affected by high oil prices as it has a mix of long-haul and short-haul. The boss of Norwegian, its biggest shareholder, needs to be sensible. Instead of pushing IAG away as if there is some other white knight in the offing, he should strike a deal.
