Lake Louise also doubles up as a natural ice rink for those keen to get their skates on. When the evening draws in, head inside

to a cosy restaurant for a delicious dinner to warm up. The Grizzly House in Banff is a popular draw, offering a variety of fondues, including cheese, chocolate and more unusual choices such as seafood or buffalo fondue.

Escape the mountains and stop off in

Calgary. The city is well prepared for the winter chills with the Plus 15 skywalk. It’s one of the world’s longest at about 11 miles and sits 15ft above street level, connecting many of downtown’s most significant buildings. This means visitors can explore the city without having to step outside. The months between October and April

are also the time to catch an ice hockey game, so head to the Saddledome to see the Calgary Flames take to the ice. With temperatures hovering around four

degrees celsius, Vancouver is the destination to visit if your customers are after milder winter weather. This makes it an ideal destination to go out and about and explore all the festivals, winter sports and Christmas markets that are found across the city at this time of year.

If your customers love ice skating, suggest

Robson Square, under the domed roof, the same place as the Vancouver Christmas Tree Lighting. The largest Christmas market welcomes more than 80 stands at Jack Poole Plaza from mid-November until Christmas Eve.

Quintessential Quebec Quebec, with its world-class skiing spots and enchanting cities, is an unmissable destination when winter draws in. Skiiers are spoilt for choice in the

province, which is home to some impressive resorts. Mont Tremblant, northwest of Montreal, is among the most popular, while Le Massif de Charlevoix, an hour outside Quebec City, boasts the highest vertical drop east of the Rockies. The cities pack a punch when it comes

to winter festivities. In Montreal, there are two Christmas parades in the city, while Parc Jean-Drapeau holds an annual snow festival. Meanwhile, music lovers can head to the Old Port on weekends for Igloofest, taking place on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights from mid-January until the start of February. Dubbed the coldest music festival in the world, Igloofest sees big names in electronic dance music take to the stage.

The winter season ends on a high in

Montreal, with its annual Nuit Blanche (sleepless night), where more than 100 activities, including art installations, shows, and dance performances, are available all night long. Quebec’s capital, Quebec City, is less than

three hours from Montreal and embraces the winter just as much. For visitors who are looking for an experience like no other, the city is home to one of the world’s only ice hotel. Tours of Hotel de Glace are available for customers who aren’t quite ready to brave a night’s stay. No trip to Quebec is complete without

tasting some authentic maple taffy. The syrup is poured onto snow where it hardens and can be rolled onto a small wooden stick to make a delicious sweet treat. Just outside the city is the impressive

Montmorency Falls, which freezes over in winter. It’s a sight to behold, either on foot or by cable car. Stay for sunset, when the falls are illuminated with coloured lights. Stop by the beautiful Manoir Montmorency

for Sunday brunch, a must for foodies. Its famous buffet spread includes cheese, cold platters, meat pies and more and is available until mid-December.
