Disney gives away DVDs for Toy Story Land training

Disney is to reward the first 1,000 agents to complete its new training module for the soon-to-open Toy Story Land by giving away DVDs.

The module on Disney Stars

goes live on March 1 and the first 1,000 agents who complete it successfully will receive a copy of Toy Story 3. The incentive comes as further details of Toy Story Land, which opens this summer at Walt Disney World in Florida, were released. Giant versions of characters such as Woody, Buzz Lightyear, Jessie and Rex will welcome visitors to the 11-acre park. The attraction will be set in the backyard of Andy, Woody and Buzz’s owner, with guests surrounded by “enormous” features including characters from the film. Guests will be made to feel as

though they have been shrunk to the size of a green toy soldier, like those in the Pixar film series. Toy Story Land’s two main

Club Med’s Kani resort in the Maldives is adding a new kids’ club and opening 27 family overwater suites this summer. The resort’s Mini Club for four

to 10-year-olds will offer sports activities including surfing, paddleboarding and snorkelling. In May, the resort will add 27

overwater suites to accommodate families of three. There are

Sicilian resort Chia Laguna starts football camps

Chia Laguna is offering football camps with ex-Premier League players as coaches and dance academies for children. The five- star resort in Sardinia has dates for May half-term and the school summer holidays. Its Campioni football class is coached by former England internationals Wes Brown and Andy Johnson.

Hollywood Studios, will also be home to quick-service restaurant Woody’s Lunch Box. Made to look like Andy’s Tupperware lunch box, it will serve meals and old- fashioned soda floats. Dave Minichiello, executive creative director of Walt Disney

Imagineering, said: “We worked very closely with the Pixar team to create rich visuals using the same colour palette from the award‑winning film Toy Story.” Disney has yet to reveal the opening date for the attraction. The new land, which has been

three years in the making, will be followed in 2019 by the opening of the 14-acre Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, which is currently being built. Toy Story 4 is due for release

in June 2019.

From September, La Pointe aux Canonniers will be relaunched following a refurbishment. This will include a new family area with a dedicated pool with water games and an adult-only Zen Zone with an oceanfront infinity pool. Renovations at Club Med’s Cancun Yucatan resort will include a new luxury and wellness area, an area for its Club Med Passworld Club for 11 to 17-year-olds. From this summer, the resort also plans to open 60 extra family rooms and

a family-friendly pool.

Children aged 11 and under can dine for free at Crusoe’s Restaurant at Comfort Suites Paradise Island in Nassau in the Bahamas when accompanied by paying adults. All guests have access to the Atlantis Paradise Island Resort next door, which has 11 pools, three beaches and one of the largest water parks in the Caribbean.

Book a bargain Easter family holiday with Haven
