Jet2holidays to enhance its trade website to aid agents


Jet2holidays is to launch a revamped trade website in the next three weeks, with tools to help agents improve sales and find the best deals faster.


New features include reminders

executive Steve Heapy said the new website “will be even faster, better looking and easier to book as of December”. The site, trade.jet2holidays.com,


will work on desktop, tablet and mobile, and is part of a £1.5 million digital investment. Jet2holidays also revealed


plans for booking centres within independent agencies, and for a tool to enable customers to find their nearest independent travel agents that sell Jet2holidays via a postcode search on its consumer website. One agent at the conference said the move raised price parity

Operator moots tiered commission to support trade


A tiered commission structure is being “investigated” by Jet2holidays to reward independent agents which support the operator. Alan Cross, the operator’s head of trade, told Travel Weekly that if such a scheme were introduced it would not be for at least a year. But he said a graduated


commission structure – which would see agents who put more effort into promoting and selling Jet2holidays earn a higher commission rate – was something the company was “very aware of”. Cross said it was “right


to reward the agents that support us”.


He said Jet2holidays


currently gives its more-supportive retailers increased marketing spend. He added: “I believe, going


forward, we do probably have to look at a tiered system. “When the time is right, we will take that forward and we will discuss that with travel agent partners before we do anything.”
