Journey Mexico gains B Corp status for sustainability efforts

Specialist tour operator Journey Mexico has achieved B Corp status. The certification, awarded by global

non-profit network B Lab, recognises the organisation’s commitment to the ‘benefit for all’ ethos and involves a rigorous process that scrutinises a company’s operations to measure its social and environmental impact. Journey Mexico said the accolade

reflected its commitment to business practices that create a positive impact on people and the environment, adding it was “proud” to join the global community of organisations working

towards a shared goal of sustainability. Travellers can visit a high-end eco-camp in Bahia Magdalena to take part in a sea turtle research and conservation project or board a gondola to explore the canals and floating gardens of Xochimilco – an ancient Aztec water transport system – to discover its history, before enjoying a traditional lunch by local chefs. The company also hosts volunteering

projects with local communities in which visitors can learn traditional agricultural techniques and cook dishes such as the Mayan recipe mucbipollo. LQWTPG[OGZKEQ EQO
