LOCATION: Within the calming surrounds of Shiba Park and adjacent to the Tokyo Tower, a shining red-and-white city landmark. The hotel – technically located in the Minato district – is about 30 minutes’ drive from Haneda Airport, while the closest metro station is Akabanebashi.


FIRST IMPRESSIONS: I’d stayed at the property several years ago, so I felt like I’d come home as I hopped out of my taxi and into the warm hotel lobby. A member of Preferred Hotels & Resorts’ L.V.X. collection, the property is huge, spanning ÎÎ yooÀà >n` Lo>ÃÌin} >m«li iÛinÌà >n` VonviÀinVi v>ViliÌiið Ü>à Ühiââi` Ìo mÞ Àoom µÕiVklÞ] >n` mÞ j>Ü hiÌ Ìhi yooÀ straight away thanks to the epic view of Tokyo Tower.


THE FACTS: There are 603 rooms and suites, including


Japanese Garden Suites featuring traditional screens and tatami-m>ÌÌi` yooÀð 7iÌh ÃiÛin ÀiÃÌ>ÕÀ>nÌÃ] ÌhÀii L>Àà >n` a boulangerie, the culinary offering is extensive. Hamashiba Sushi, Tenshiba Tempura and Torishiba Yakitori are standouts.
