LEMON TREE TAKES ROOT


Lemon Tree Hotels has opened its second property in West Bengal with the launch of its upper-midscale 142-room Lemon Tree Premier, New Town. It also marks its fi rst in Kolkata, bringing its total to 6,000 rooms

Madhya Pradesh and the Kerala city of Kochi are the only desti nati ons to have made the list of the Lonely Planet’s top travel desti nati ons for 2020. Kochi has been ranked seventh by the travel guide which rated Salzburg, Washington DC and Cairo as its top three. It described Kochi as a “nicely chilled city in southern India [which] has seen the light” and one that “keeps a grip on its heritage while wholeheartedly embracing its newfound cool”. FOREIGN BUYERS GET ON BOARD


More than 200 foreign buyers are expected at SATTE 2020 when its doors open on January 8, according to the latest analysis which predicts more than 50 countries will be involved. The expo’s foreign buyers programme is well supported by industry stakeholders and, like previous years, the Ministry of Tourism has already extended its support by off ering air passage to foreign buyers with the help of several well-known airlines.
