India Expositi on Mart came into being in April 1999 based on the themes of the upcoming centralised export centres in Dallas, Atlanta, Los Angeles, Utrecht in the Netherlands and Shanghai, China. It is India’s largest integrated venue and the fi rst state-of-the-art round-the- clock centre for internati onal marketi ng, combining the

values of a traditi onal trade mart with exhibiti on and conventi on faciliti es. Since the last SATTE, it has
played host to a wide variety of events, such as the Spring IHGF Delhi Fair, Asia’s largest event dedicated to gift s and handicraft s, followed by India Plast, a B2B trade show for the best in plasti cs manufacturing technology.
The summer saw the Indian Fashion Jewellery and Accessories Show staged there and it was followed by promoti on of the texti le market with Surat Dreams. Shortly aft erwards it
hosted SmartCards Expo, India’s only trade fair which focuses on such technologies and its applicati ons, with the equally high-tech Electronica
