MATERIALS & NATURE

FEATURED EXHIBITORS

The piazza will once again showcase the very best, smartest, most innovative - and even disruptive - materials that look likely to make an impact on the world of interiors and furnishing

There have been significant advances in materials research in recent times - advances which have produced features and functions behind a whole new generation of products. On display at this year’s show will be many of the key

ingredients which will be presented for the first time in an area with a focus on trends, which will cover literally everything from resource conservation, and sustainable raw materials to innovative surface design. They will include wood, veneers, parquet flooring, interior works, decorative surfaces, decor papers, laminates, wood- based panels, laminated plastic, mineral materials, edges, surface treatments, embossing cylinders and press plates. Innovations in the materials world play a key role in the

design of living and working spaces these days. Such materials bring new qualities to rooms and furnishings, making them more functional, flexible and smarter. This segment will showcase the most extensive range

of new materials and applications found anywhere in the world, be they high-tech or digitally printed surfaces, natural veneers or composite materials made of renewable raw materials.

The event follows the interdisciplinary materials.cologne

conference in March which focused on materials, colour and surface in interior design and architecture and hosted speakers such as Cologne’s Prof. Paul Böhm, Gerd Ohlhauser of the Surface Yearbook and Ruth Pauli and Christian Dorn from NCS Color.
