INTERZUM AWARDS REVIEW OF 2017 A LOOK BACK OF THE BEST OF THE BEST
The benefi ts of an interzum award cannot be overstated. Not only does it establish a product as exceptional in terms of its sheer quality - but it pays testimony to its all-important market competitiveness.
Over the years, the quality label has served as a valuable marketing tool for many worthy winners who have been able to take pride in the fact that, in many cases, they are quite literally the Best of the Best. The ‘interzum award: intelligent material & design’ was launched to recognise the best designs in the international supplier industry for the furniture and interior decorating industries. In 2017, the last time the Fair was staged, 244 entries from 28 countries were entered and reviewed by independent international experts from the design and architecture sector.
They assessed the design quality of the products live at Koelnmesse, looking for excellence covering a range of criteria such as levels of innovation, material quality, sustainability, shape and functionality. There has also been a new category introduced this year to mark the growing trend towards the effective use of Tiny Spaces. Forty entries were awarded the title of ‘High Product Quality’ and a further 12 were handed the ‘Best of the Best’ accolade for achievements that were deemed to set new standards in form and function.
Judging will take place on May 20 on the eve of the Fair and there will be a special exhibition of the winning products for the duration of the event.
