Brand: Sony Pictures Releasing Agency: Spinnaker
To generate buzz around the release of award-winning film Whiplash, about an ambitious jazz drummer, Spinnaker designed The Whiplash Experiment. The objective of the campaign was to make the audience feel part of the movie’s intense drama. At a special preview screening, audience members were hooked up to a series of monitors recording blood pressure, heart rate and pulse readings. Using the data obtained, Spinnaker produced a series of engaging short videos, memes and infographics, detailing the physical effects caused by the film. The content was then shared across the Whiplash and Sony Pictures social accounts. The campaign achieved 78,000 video views and an organic reach of over 450,000—an overall box office figure of £1.6 million.

provided website localisation services to Emirates, one of the world’s biggest international airlines, since 2009. Capita TI has translated over 2.8 million words into Brazilian Portuguese for the Emirates website and, when the brand moved to a cloud-based platform, Capita TI recognised that they needed to allow linguists direct access to the new system in order to meet requirements and remain flexible. The Brazilian Portuguese website is now fully localised and has seen an increase in online visitors.
