Shakespeare Week: 18th
- 22nd July
The Inn Theatre Company have, for over twenty years, been bringing Shakespeare to life in the open air at Dartmouth Castle in the latter part of July. And this year they are staging ‘Much Ado About Nothing’ every evening from 7.30pm. Bring a picnic to the Castle and enjoy the atmos- phere before being transported to Sicily in 1944 and witness a tale of love, lies, betrayal, loyalty, obsession, friendship and deception, that is both funny, heartbreaking and joyous in equal meas- ure. Tickets are available now via the company website
www.theinntheatrecompany.co.uk’
the legendary Kontiki Raft Race and the unique and beloved Spot the Oddity and Best Dressed Window competition. You will see lots of children spending hours looking in shop windows to ‘spot the oddity’, whether it’s finding a tin of baked beans in an art gallery or spotting a carefully hidden wooden spoon on display in a clothes shop - this game is somehow deeply satisfying whatever your age! The extremely successful Family Fun weekend, this year extended to include the Bank Holiday Monday continues to focus on the great family activities that have proved so popular in past years, with even more opportunities to enjoy our Silent Disco this year. Plus, this year we will see two new events with RPM BMX Bike Trials Display Team and Slackline School taking place on Thursday 29th August in the centre of town. The week wraps up after the sunset awards and Grand Draw on Saturday 31st August, the final Saturday night, when everything culminates in a dramatic fireworks display, closing ceremony and music into the night.
