Dartmouth Castle & Gallants Bower A stroll along the River Dart to Dartmouth Castle. There are breath- taking views over the River Dart as you climb to Gallants Bower. This is a brilliant walk in spring, when, around the castle, the woods are carpeted with wildflowers and ring with birdsong.

START: Coronation Park, Dartmouth - TQ6 9PQ
DISTANCE: 3.3 miles (5.3 km) TERRAIN: Moderate. Streets, tarmac paths and woodland footpaths, with some stretches of ascent and descent including steps.

A CIRCULAR WALK START: The National Trust Car Park, Redlap, Little Dartmouth - TQ6 0JP
DISTANCE: 4.2 miles (6.7 km) Moderate.
TERRAIN: Coastal path and field footpaths, uneven in places and sometimes muddy, surfaced road and bridleway. Some uphill and downhill.
A high-level walk around the cliffs above the mouth of the River Dart. Allow time for exploring the remains of many centuries of history around Dartmouth Castle, Warfleet Cove and Gallants Bower. Gallants Bower is the perfect place in Spring when the bluebells are resplendent. The cliffs and coastal grasslands provide valuable habitat for many birds, plants and fauna.
