Waiting for the stars. 76x60cm. Oil and acrylic on canvas board. Heidi Archer Heidi Archer - ‘Alongshore’, a solo show at Dart Gallery
o coincide with Spring Bank Holiday weekend, Dart Gal- lery is launching a solo show of beautiful new work by Heidi Archer. Based in Devon, Heidi is inspired by the shapes and forms of our special location. Painting with a limited palette on canvas board or wood panel, she creates carefully composed, graphically compelling work which plays with perspective and colour. She has built a reputation for her stylised paintings of moonlit rural scenes and familiar coastal motifs. Heidi expands on this new collection in
T
her own words: “Over the past few months I have been building my solo show collection and paying particular attention to the seasonal colour variations we experience here in Devon. The subtle, some- times muted tonal changes in our environment suddenly transform into pops of intense colour as time progresses. I have tried to weave these elements into the top and base layers of my work especially - building up colour to reflect the particular time of year.” The show will launch as part of Dartmouth Galleries week with
a first view from 6pm on Friday 22nd May. Heidi will be at the gal- lery then to talk to you about her wonderful paintings. Contact the gallery for further information.
