taste and take home from outstanding local producers”

it comes from. On Monday lunchtime, the

Flavel will host the ever-popular Community Lunch, where surplus food from stallholders is transformed into a delicious feast. The Drinks Seminars return with

a strong line-up in the Dartmouth Yacht Club, welcoming back Susy Atkins and Will Lyons alongside English wineries and cidermakers. The Drinks Tank workshops in the Sail Loft will feature Devon Rum and Salcombe Gin, and a cocktail hour with TV’s Andy Clarke. Brown’s Hotel will once again hosts talks and tastings delving into cheese, honey and chocolate. The 2026 Food Matters

programme will again seek to entertain and inform audiences. We start in the Flavel on the Friday

with a series of pro/con debates about GLP-1 agonists and weight loss drugs; the recently published Government plans for farming and we will question in what way and why food culture in the UK has so rapidly changed. The series of conversations between experts follows on the Saturday in Royal Avenue Gardens where chefs, food writers and some of the exceptional food producers will engage with the general public in celebration of what is available in the South West. Food Matters is, we believe, a unique free entry event in UK Food Festivals. Come, contribute and enjoy. As Dartmouth celebrates the

region’s food and drink, none of this would be possible without our loyal festival sponsors, committee

members and volunteers, whose time, talent and good humour help deliver a packed weekend in this beautiful town. Visit the festival website for the

latest news. Event tickets will be available from mid-September, with Friends of the Festival receiving advance notice, so visit the website to sign up as a Friend or Business Associate. If you’d like to get more involved with our wonderful organisation we’d love to have you on board, just get in touch through the website.

2026 Sponsors include Rockfish, Bays Brewery, London Wine Company, Coast and Country Cottages, Caterfood, Dart Marina Hotel, Flint & Flame, Sandridge Barton, The Holland Group, Premier Ma- rinas, PL1 and Noss on Dart Hotel. (up to date at the time of going to press.) Dartmouthfoodfestival.com
