Dartmouth Regatta Returns for Four Spectacular Days of Summer Celebration Ashore, the town comes alive
he countdown is on for one of the South West’s most loved annual events as the
181st Port of Dartmouth Royal Regatta returns from Wednes- day 26 to Saturday 29 August 2026. Now in its 181st year, the Regatta once again promises four unforgettable days of world-class sailing, thrilling rowing, family entertainment, live music and spectacular riverside celebra- tions – all set against the stun- ning backdrop of the River Dart.
One of the things that makes
Dartmouth Regatta so special is that the vast majority of events are completely free to enjoy. Whether
you’re a lifelong supporter, visiting for the first time or simply looking for a fantastic summer day out, there really is something for everyone.
The river remains the beating
heart of the Regatta. Throughout the week, visitors can watch ex- citing sailing and rowing compe- titions featuring everything from elegant yachts and traditional gigs to fine boats, Seine boats, coastal rowing and dragon boats. The famous River Parade once again promises a colourful flotilla of deco- rated vessels, while the spectacular Royal Navy Guardship provides an impressive reminder of Dartmouth’s long-standing maritime heritage.
with entertainment from morning until late evening. Royal Avenue Gardens will host live music, family activities, food and drink, while the North Embankment Shopping Village offers a carefully selected range of local traders, artisan gifts, crafts and international street food. Coronation Park will again be home to a packed programme of sporting activities, ensuring visitors of all ages can get involved rather than simply watch.
Families will find plenty to keep
children entertained with competi- tions, interactive activities and op- portunities to try something new.
