The UKLA Annual Dinner: A night to remember at the Sheraton Park Lane

On the 13th November 2024, the Sheraton Park Lane in London transformed into a hub of excitement for the UKLA Annual Dinner! It was a wonderful evening where professionals from the many industry sectors came together to celebrate and connect.
Following the welcome receptions, we sat down to a sumptuous meal and enjoyed some table networking with friends and colleagues.
Once our feast had concluded and we moved onto our coffees the formalities of the evening commenced. Mike Bewsey (UKLA President) and David Wright (UKLA Director General) took to the stage to present the industries most coveted awards.
President’s Award for 2024 was awarded to Peter Vickers of Vickers Oils. Peter once outlined the core values of a business as: “Honest Dealing, Employee Welfare and the Protection of the Environment – above the Maximisation of Profit,” and it is for this combination of acumen and high moral standards that Peter is respected throughout the industry.
Special Awards of Council Whilst normally presented to a single individual, for 2024, no fewer than three colleagues from the industry, and long-term contributors to the UKLA were bestowed the honour of Special Award of Council.

The first winner was Steve Mayo, UKLA past-President and former Managing Director of Certas Lubricant Solutions, who retired earlier this year. Throughout his career, Steve has been instrumental in driving advancements in lubricant technology and fostering strong industry relationships.
