Editor’s Desk Dear readers,
As we close out another year, it’s a fitting time to reflect on the advancements and ongoing challenges in the lubricants industry. In this December issue, we turn our focus to two critical topics: white oils and marine lubricants.
White oils, known for their purity and versatility, continue to play an essential role across various applications, from cosmetics to food processing. Their performance standards and regulatory compliance remain pivotal as industries seek higher-quality solutions for their end products. We delve into the latest innovations in refining processes and formulations that enhance the properties of white oils, ensuring they meet the evolving needs of manufacturers and consumers alike.
On the marine lubricants front, we explore the significant trends shaping this vital segment in today’s sustainability- focused environment. With stricter regulations surrounding emissions and environmental protection, the demand for high-performance marine lubricants has never been more pressing. Our articles examine how leading companies are rising to the challenge by developing eco-friendly formulations that not only comply with regulations but also enhance engine performance and longevity.
Our thanks to Dewi Ballard and Rob Glass of Infineum, Nishta Watkiss of Vickers Oils, Hui Hong Yeo of Lubrizol, and Mustafa Akin and Imren Meydan of Petroyag for their insights on these topics, as well as to Raj Shah and Nicholas Douglas of Koehler Instrument Company for providing this issue’s Lube Tech on friction modifiers.
