Mandy had very firm ideas of how she wanted the kitchen to look and work, so the brief was led by her with a focus on making the most of the space. It’s quite a square room with lots of windows and doors, so we focused on getting a design that would work well within it, while maximising countertop space. We used our own brand of handmade kitchens, which we call Nicholas Bell, that we can get painted to any RAL colours. Mandy specified grey and a rosy shade of pink, so we chose quite a few different hues using a selection of paints, made up some samples for her, and then she chose the exact colours from there. It’s a really special kitchen with the lovely Georgian mantel and the unique island unit, which we had made to Mandy’s smaller size requirements as she didn’t want a big open-plan room, as well as the bespoke Ged Kennett handles.
