Wet rooms, on the surface, sound like an easy design thanks to their minimalistic look. But, as Vicki Evans finds, they require thorough surveys thanks to their hidden complexities
way as freestanding baths. They are a stylish and spacious choice, but they have the bonus of being accessible and ideal for multigenerational homes. In the past, wet rooms used to be hard to design and would require many installation hours, but now it comes together just as easily as any other showering space. But they still have the wow factor.

Safety should be first within a wet-room space, and making sure that the tray has a high slip resistance is a top priority.
Martin Carroll, managing director Duravit UK says it is essential to ensure that the trays enhance safety but do not distract from their aesthetic appeal.
