TRAINING AND DEVELOPMENT Updates
IHEEM Technical Forums The Institute continues to strengthen its support for members by developing practical tools and resources that enhance professional practice. The introduction of the Technical Forums represents the latest step in this ongoing commitment, providing a modern, collaborative platform designed to help members access expertise, share knowledge, and navigate the evolving challenges of the healthcare estates sector. Developed in collaboration with CompliMind, the new Technical Forums
provide secure online spaces for Technical and Advisory Platforms, with additional dedicated areas for Authorised Persons (APs) and Competent Persons (CPs). These spaces provide members with access to documents, meeting minutes, shared resources, FAQs, and engage in organised technical discussions that promote knowledge sharing, best practice, and informed decision-making across the healthcare estates community. Effective search tools make it easy to locate previous discussions, while anonymous posting supports sensitive questions and encourages open, constructive engagement. By bringing together expertise from across the profession, the Forums
provide a structured environment for members to explore subject- specific challenges and share insights. This unified approach strengthens collective understanding, supports the work of the Technical Platforms, and represents a significant step in enabling members to connect, contribute, and work together more effectively for the benefit of the wider healthcare system. To make use of this feature, simply login into with your member email into the My Forums platform at:

Big Bang at Parliament The Institute was delighted to take part in The Big Bang at Parliament event organised by EngineeringUK, championing STEM education and celebrating the innovation of young people across the UK. CEO Pete Sellars, COO Tania Davies, and members of the IHEEM team met with talented students whose creativity and problem-solving skills are helping shape the future of healthcare. Many of the projects showcased highlighted the essential contribution of engineering to improving patient care and healthcare environments, while also offering an inspiring glimpse into the enthusiasm and ingenuity driving the sector’s future. IHEEM remains committed to inspiring the next generation of engineers and helping young people discover pathways into healthcare engineering.
