Switches for sensors in automation applications
C&K
According to some estimates, the sensor market will grow at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of over 7% through 2020, driven by trends such as the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT). In the world of factory and process automation, there are many high performance sensing devices used to monitor and control critical parameters.
Processing industries such as oil and gas refi ning, chemicals, or food and beverage, use hundreds of pressure, temperature, fl ow and level transmitters. These are found throughout the network of piping and tanks used to transform raw materials into end products. Proximity sensors including photo- electric, capacitive, and inductive types are used to verify position on automated assembly machines.
Most of these sensors also rely on small high performance switches for setup, confi guration, and display control. These switches are subject to the same demands as the sensors themselves, including

miniaturisation, corrosion resistance, as well as performance reliability in harsh environments. C&K Switches offer a number of industry leading products which meet these requirements. Tact switches such as the KSC, KMR, and KMT0 series are specifi cally designed for these types of applications.
