MGG Polymers has developed a procedure in which a wide variety of plastic types and processing qualities from plastic-rich WEEE waste streams are economically reclaimed. Its Austrian facilities produce high-quality plastic granulate and compounds predominantly made from ABS, PP, PS and PC/ABS for reuse in a multitude of products that need to comply with UL, RoHS and REACH standards.

Montello runs a factory in Italy which recycles 200,000 tpa of post-consumer plastic packaging from which new products are obtained. It also recycles organic waste from which biogas is obtained, used to produce both electric and thermal energy and biomethane, and at the same time recovering CO2 for further use.

BritAS launches PET melt filter
Melt filtration company BritAS will be exhibiting its technology at the Plastics Recycling World Exhibition, including its ABMF and CBMF filter ranges. It has just launched ABMF PET, an automatic belt melt filter designed specifically for PET. It was first shown at the NPE 2018 exhibition in the US in May. The temperature control and heating capacity
of the ABMF PET filter are designed for higher processing temperatures. To deal with lower viscosities, the filter sealing has been opti- mised by use of a die guid- ance. BritAS says the filter surface and channel guidance are also designed for PET throughputs. The ABMF PET is initially available with a filter surface of 570 cm².

This new product broadens the ABMF range of filters and follows the recent addition of the ABMF 1600, which has increased the filter surface by 50%. The larger filter surface not only leads to an increased total output but also supports customers dealing with growing amounts of contamination caused, for example, by paper. BritAS is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year. Marking the occasion, the company has opened a new test centre at its headquarters in Hanau, Germany.
