Medical range Gabriel-Chemie has introduced a new master- batch range for the medical industry, which is designed to meet the strict require- ments of ISO 10993. The new line features polyethylene (PE)- and polypropylene (PP)-based polymer carrier masterbatches, and was developed to help stream- line bio-compatibility concerns. The company says that the medical masterbatches will help to reduce product development times due to being a ready-made product range. “This is reflected in the
careful selection of raw materials that meet ISO 10993 standards,” said Diego Karpeles, corporate business development and innovation manager at Gabriel-Chemie. “Our product range also includes specialised laser-marking masterbatches.” The medical masterbatch-
es adhere to ISO 13485 certification, ensuring compliance with strict quality standards. The production process involves meticulous procedures, including isolated mixing, extrusion, granulation, filling, and storing. The range is not tested on animals. The company has also
expanded operations at two of its European plants. It recently broke ground
on an expansion in ware- house capacity at its headquarters in Gumpol- dskirchen, Austria. It plans to

enlarge the existing ware- house by around 3,200 sq m. Inside the new building, a flexible rack system will provide an extra 5,000 pallet spaces – making open-air storage spaces obsolete. “This extension, requiring an investment of €7 million, underscores our commit- ment to strengthen our position as a future-oriented masterbatch manufacturer,”

MASTERFOAM The more you use, the more you save!
MasterFoam is a new endothermic blowing agent masterbatch, developed by Broadway’s in-house technical team. It provides material reductions in
plastic manufacturing. MasterFoam can lower your costs, reduce cycle times, decrease the weight of your mouldings, and shrink your carbon footprint too.
Lower your manufacturing costs Use less polymer in production Lightweight your components Reduce your cycle times Reduce your energy demand Reduce your carbon footprint Increase your shot/running speed
Increase your productivity Improve component properties Prevent sink marks Successful in various applications Effective at low addition rates Made to order at our UK factory ISO certified materials specialist
Benefits dependent on application, polymer type and moulding conditions. Line trials recommended.
