Available in masterbatch, liquid or powder form, Verimaster additives are said to be cost effective, easy to use, and suitable for use with all polymers “Our technology is used in a wide range of industries from high end fashion goods to car components. Once an item has been produced with built-in Verimaster technology, the anti-counterfeit protection never stops working,” says Addmaster Marketing Manager Karl Shaw. Crystalline markers from Polysecure can be synthesised to have fluorescence that is detectable by optical detectors. The company’s glass-ceramic markers contain a chemical code which can be read by x-ray fluorescence spectroscopy or inductively-coupled-plasma mass spectrometry. It recently developed a new family of fluorescent markers in collaboration with the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT). “The stoichiometries are new, so we have filed patents,” says Polysecure CEO Jochen Moesslein. “This achievement is in line with our philosophy to offer our clients ‘own’ markers that other suppliers are not allowed to copy. This is also important for our tracer-based sorting applica-


tions where standardisation and control over the tracers is key.” Polysecure introduced a low-cost fluorescence detector – BrandProof 2 – that can be deployed for widespread detection of covert markers in the field.
