FROM INSPIRATION TO LEADERSHIP DOUG CAMPBELL’S JOURNEY AT FIRST LIGHT SAFETY
Doug Campbell brings over two decades of experience in the school bus industry as Director of Sales at First Light Safety. With a strong background in sales and management, Doug has spent the last 10 years pro- moting technologies that enhance safety and reduce the dangers of illegally passing stopped school buses. His commitment to child safety was sparked early in his career, watching his son cross the road to board the school bus, inspiring him to dedicate his efforts to en- suring the safest possible environment for all children.
With an unwavering commitment to excellence and a work ethic rooted in diligence and passion for mak- ing a difference, his leadership has contributed to safeguarding students’ journeys every day. Doug’s insights into industry trends and dedication to sup- porting cutting-edge safety technologies make him an invaluable asset and an influential voice in strength- ening processes, policies, and customer relationships at First Light Safety and within the school transpor- tation industry. He is inspired to support and expand the sales of innovative illuminated safety products, which he believes are the most visible solutions avail- able today to warn and capture motorists’ attention. Driven by the company’s mission of illuminating the
path to safer school commutes for children and to sig- nificantly improve child safety during school bus load- ing and unloading, Doug is poised to lead First Light Safety to new heights in the industry. Outside of work, Doug is an avid outdoor enthusiast who enjoys snow- boarding, skiing, mountain biking, running, and hiking. His adventurous spirit and commitment to community welfare are reflected in both his personal and profes- sional life.
Q: What experiences in your career have best pre- pared you for your role as Director of Sales at First Light Safety? Doug Campbell: Early in my career, when my son was riding the school bus, I realized that while the ride it- self was safe, getting on and off the bus was less so. That experience inspired me to focus on safety prod- ucts and technologies, eventually leading me to First Light Safety.
Q: What excites you most about your role at First Light Safety? Doug Campbell: I’m excited about supporting and ex- panding the sales of our innovative illuminated safety products. The mission to illuminate the path to safer school commutes and significantly improve child safe- ty during bus loading and unloading is incredibly mo- tivating. I’m eager to help First Light Safety reach new heights in the industry and make a tangible difference in children’s lives.
