Industry Heartbreak Mike Stotler, who joined Thomas Built Buses in 2008, died on Aug. 20 at age 50. He created and managed the manufacturer’s Thomas Built Institute technician training program. He also developed a train- the-trainer program for 47 dealer trainers throughout the U.S. and Canada and the Service Trainer Awards (STARS) certification system, including multilevel achievements to track the progression of training. 2022 Illegal Passing Results The National Association of State Directors of Pupil Transportation Services announced the results of its 10th survey on school bus illegal passing following a two-year hiatus. Nearly 80,000 school bus drivers reported that 51,593 vehicles passed their school buses illegally on a single day during the 2021-2022 school year. Read the article at stnonline.com/go/dk.
