Injury/Fatality Research In reporting on the 2018-2019 school year, School

Transportation News collected nonscientific data from nationwide news reports listed via Google News. The research found that a total of 11 deaths were recorded from Aug. 1, 2018 through June 30, 2019 on school buses: Five children, one adult volunteer and five bus drivers. In addition, 17 children were struck and killed by motorists who illegally passed school buses, or while walking to or from their school bus stop or their school bus.
