received the Maine State Police Special Award of Commendation for steering a school bus to safety, after the school bus driver she was supervising suffered a heart attack while behind the wheel. About 20 students were on-board at the time. Hot Topic! NTSB Report The National Transportation


Safety Board released its conclu- sions from an investigative report on the fatal December 2017 Oakland, Iowa school bus crash. The NTSB recommended that fire suppression systems be included in all new and in-service school buses. The board also called for improved oversight of school bus drivers who have medical issues.
