sense of duty, this idea that you have a job to do and people are counting on you to do it,” Jones told School Transportation News last month. “So, learn your job, learn it well and be the person people can count on to get it done.” Anthony Jackson, Bibb County’s director of transportation, said Jones’ reputation preced- ed him. “Members of my staff and I were told in advance of Dr. Jones’ arrival, that he was a man of intelligence, integrity and focus,” he recalled. “We were also told he was very ap- proachable and supportive. This information paled in comparison to what he demonstrated upon arrival.” Jackson said Jones immediately observed school bus operations. He listened to the transportation staff, as well as student riders, their parents and other school personnel, to discover the strengths and weaknesses.
