Board-to-Cable Connectors from Yamaichi
SAN JOSE, CA — The Y-Lock Pullforce connector system from Yamaichi Electronics is the reli- able and process-safe solution for applications with high require- ments, especially for battery management or cell contacting systems in the automotive indus- try. The system will now be extended by version V4 with con- nector position assurance and integrated contact protection for the FFC/FPC. The Pullforce system (Non-
ZIF) of the Y-Lock features the intelligent One-Push locking mechanism, which is available in different versions. Here, the flex- ible flat cable (FFC) or the flexi- ble printed circuit board (FPC) is inserted into the connector using the pre-assembled stiffener. In the V3 and V4 versions, the stiff- ener automatically engages in two steps, first via lateral lock- ing hooks and in the next step via the double front locking. Thanks to the guide pins on
the system, blind plugging and contacting is also possible. This blind mating is particularly advantageous for applications that are difficult to access or
where space is limited. The con- nection is disconnected by simply pulling out the FFC/FPC — mechanical actuation of the con- nector is not required.

The Y-Lock version 3 has
already successfully established itself in the market. Due to the double locking, the blind mating function and the low profile, this solution is suitable for battery systems where the FFC/FPC is not under voltage after discon- nection from the connector. The Y-Lock system has been quali-
fied based on LV214. Contact: Yamaichi

Mitsubishi Announces
Servo Amplifier Support for FSoE
VERNON HILLS, IL — Mitsubishi Electric’s MELSER- VO-J5 EtherCAT-compatible amplifiers support FSoE for increased safety, performance, and reliability. Mitsu bishi’s MELSER- VO-J5 Ether CAT compatible servo amplifiers allow users to easily integrate safety devices (EStop buttons, safety sensors, and other devices) into a single network. MELSERVO-J5 Servo ampli-
fiers are known for their reliabili- ty, simple wiring, easy implemen- tation, and now with increased safety through FailSafe. FailSafe over EtherCAT (FSoE) devices operate by separating safety relat- ed traffic transmission and stan- dard data on the same network

EtherCAT-compatible amplifiers.
FSoE is a TUV-certified
technology developed according to IEC 61508, standardized internationally in IEC 61784-3, and can be implemented with an approved EtherCAT Master module. In the event a machine
breaks down or malfunctions, FailSafe is designed to revert the servo to safe working conditions
by utilizing safety subfunctions. Contact: Mitsubishi Electric
