around since the company was founded. His father Bakir Kan- purwala and Mike Shahpurwala, who is currently Aven’s presi- dent, founded Aven in 1983 in Bakir’s basement. Mark has been with the company full time for 17 years. He holds an engi- neering degree from Purdue Uni- versity.


“After college, I worked as a


sales engineer for Trane Air Con- ditioning in Baltimore, Mary- land, for nine years,” says Kan- purwala. “I took those nine years of sales experience and joined Aven as the national sales man- ager and now I am the VP of sales and marketing.” He and Mike run the business together. “During my time back at Aven, I am most proud of our growth and the team we have assembled here in Ann Arbor, Michigan,” he says. “Our growth has allowed us to give back to our local commu- nity in many ways, from sponsor- ing charity 5K runs to donating supplies to local schools in need.”


Mighty Vue Inspector Like many of the company’s


products, the patented Mighty Vue Inspector was developed based on feedback from customers and field sales representatives. Aven has been selling quality magnifying lamps for years, and the company always gets the questions “Can I take a picture with this?” or “Is it possible to put this image on a screen?” Aven worked with its design

teams in the U.S. and overseas to develop the first magnifying lamp with a built-in camera. “You can now put the image

new Mighty Vue Inspector, are designed for use in many applica- tions, from the expected precision assembly applications to medical doctors, nail salons, and even spas,” he says. “Our products have features such as adjustable color temperature (3,500K to 6,500K) and brightness control, making them the most advanced and versatile in the market, pro- viding unparalleled clarity and flexibility for various inspection tasks.”

Aven does a great job of always being ready to embrace new technologies that may help it to be more efficient. “From our backend ERP system to a new sales app for our field salesforce, we are always focusing on ways to be more efficient,” he says. “And much like how our inspec- tor lamp was developed, we lis- ten to our customers to ensure we design and adapt our prod- ucts to meet their changing needs and the current needs of the industry.” Coming out of COVID, the


company is looking to accelerate the pace of some of our current products in development. “Obvi- ously, AI is changing the way we work, and we are actively devel- oping products that will take ad- vantage of this game-changing technology, while ensuring our quality and efficiency remain at the same high levels as always,”
