ABINGDON FLOORING LAUNCHES NEW MAXIMUS COLLECTION
Created using a new and improved Zylon Plus yarn for peak performance, the Maximus range is the latest addition to Abingdon Flooring’s StainFree family. Maximus brings hardwearing and durable attributes, resulting in a carpet built for living.
With a successful launch at the recent Flooring Show, Maximus proved a popular choice for retailers looking to offer an all-round champion that copes with heavy domestic use, while retaining its good looks and superior feel. In a choice of 16 colourways ranging from on-trend greys to golden pastels, Maximus looks set to become a future household favourite for 2020.
Martin Peace, Sales Director at Abingdon Flooring, commented: “The positive response from retailers at the
recent launch of Maximus proves that we have brought a well-considered, solid and durable carpet to the market. Joining our popular StainFree family, Maximus is an exciting addition and one that we can see being a key choice for consumers now, and for the future.”
A generous 12mm pile provides the carpet’s strong and durable structure, and Abingdon Flooring’s fleece backing gives comfort and ease of fitting. Using a 100% bleach-cleanable Zylon Plus yarn gives Maximus its lifetime StainFree guarantee and a fine 1/10th
gauge construction marks it as a carpet of real quality. The range is available in three width choices in 2.5m, 4m and 5m, bringing great value and less waste in small rooms and fewer seams in large spaces.
Strong branding and in-store support in the form of wall units and lecterns are available to help retailers reinforce Maximus’ message as a hardwearing option without compromise on finish and style for the residential market.
in South Devon, so it does give me a head above local competition.
MASTER INSTALLER STATUS KEEPS SOLE TRADER AHEAD OF COMPETITION
The Quick-Step Master Installer programme has been a key foundation in the Academy for Excellence in Flooring’s effort to promote standards and best practices within the flooring installation sector.
Master Installers are given a leading manufacturer-backed lifetime workmanship guarantee that has increasingly been viewed as a benchmark for industry professionals within a competitive installer marketplace.
Allan Milford, based in South Devon, is a sole trader working on predominantly residential and new-build projects around
the UK. Starting his career straight from college over 30 years ago, where he completed his training in carpet fitting, before moving into specialising in vinyl and laminate floor installations.
Most recently, Allan has been working on a new-build site alongside a continually busy stream of residential clients, which stands testament to his experience. Allan’s Master Installer badge has given him the backing of a recognised manufacturer guarantee that he would not have been able to match as a sole trader.
Allan said: “As a sole trader in a competitive market, having the backing of a national company was the deciding factor for me. I also am the only Master Installer within 15-20 miles of my base
“The warranty has really helped as it gives clients a reassurance that I know my trade and can install to key standards. Being able to include my Master Installer backing as part of initial discussions has meant, along with references from my previous clients, I have the backing as well as the prowess to provide a great finished floor that lasts. This is certainly a draw above competitors and gives my residential clients the confidence to use me.
“Having the backing of a large, recognised company gives me a key advantage and has been the reason I have renewed my membership over the last two and a half years for my Vinyl Master Installer and four plus years for Wood & Laminate Master Installer.”
The Academy for Excellence in Flooring currently has availability for the three- day training and certification scheme. The programme includes a mixture of discussions, presentations, one-to-one mentoring throughout the course and up to five practical installations in dedicated training bays. At the end of the course, there will be a pass or fail assessment for the Master Installer status.
